Abstract: This study looks closely at how climate change is impacting agricultural productivity, especially in India, while also drawing lessons from global experiences. Agriculture is one of the most climate-sensitive sectors, and even small changes in temperature, rainfall, or extreme weather can deeply affect crop yields and rural livelihoods. Through qualitative research and case studies, this paper explores the key changes happening in the farming sector due to climate shifts—like falling yields, water stress, and crop failures.
The study also looks at how farmers are coping—through adaptation strategies, policy support, and local innovations. While some progress has been made in introducing climate-resilient practices, many challenges like lack of awareness, poor access to resources, and unpredictable weather still persist. This research highlights the urgent need for stronger policy frameworks, local engagement, and sustainable farming practices to protect agriculture from the growing threat of climate change
