Abstract:

A rainwater harvesting system is a technology for collecting and storing rainwater that would otherwise run off, for later use.

It involves capturing precipitation from surfaces like rooftops, filtering it, and storing it in tanks for various purposes such as garden irrigation, flushing toilets, washing clothes, or even purified for drinking.

These systems range from simple rain barrels to more elaborate setups with pumps and purification systems, and they help conserve water and reduce reliance on municipal water supplies.
