Abstract
The title of this research paper is ”A Study on the Effect of Structured Onboarding Practices on the Performance of New Employees in Polyhose India Rubber Pvt. Ltd.” In this paper, the effect of onboarding practices on the improvement of employee performance will be studied. Onboarding practices play an important role in understanding the job role, corporate culture, and required performance. Role clarification, communication, training, mentoring, managerial support, feedback, and employee engagement are the onboarding practices that will be studied in this paper. The primary data collection tool in this research paper is data obtained through structured questionnaires administered to 205 respondents. SPSS software is used for the computation of different tests such as percentage analysis, normality test, Spearman correlation, Chi-square test, and Mann-Whitney U test. Based on the outcome of the various statistical tests conducted, it can be seen that most of the respondents have a positive attitude towards onboarding practices. Moreover, communication, training, and managerial support improve employee performance. As per the correlation test, it is found that there is a significant and positive relationship between onboarding practices and employee performance. There is no statistically significant relationship between gender and training among onboarding practices. Taking into consideration the outcome that has been acquired after the experiment was conducted, one of the key factors that will impact the performance and dedication of the employees of the company is the onboarding process. It thus makes it necessary for the company to keep the onboarding process updated.
Our key findings: (1) structured onboarding practices such as communication, training, and managerial support have a significant positive impact on employee
performance, (2) role clarity and continuous feedback enhance employee confi- dence and productivity, (3) employee engagement during onboarding improves satisfaction and retention, and (4) statistical analysis reveals a strong positive rela- tionship between onboarding practices and employee performance, with minimal influence of demographic factors such as gender. These findings provide practical insights for organizations to strengthen onboarding strategies and improve overall workforce effectiveness.
