ABSTRACT
Employee well-being has become a vital determinant affecting organisational performance and long-term viability, especially in private higher education institutions. This study investigates the correlation between employee well-being and its role in fostering sustainable development within these institutions. Employee well-being is regarded as a multidimensional construct that includes physical, psychological, social, and professional dimensions, as well as work-life balance. The research employs a descriptive-cum-correlational design utilising a quantitative methodology, with data gathered from faculty and administrative personnel via structured questionnaires.
The study examines the impact of employee well-being on critical organisational outcomes, including job satisfaction, employee engagement, organisational commitment, and institutional performance. It also looks into how well-being can help achieve long-term goals, such as keeping faculty, improving academic performance, and keeping institutions stable. The results show that higher levels of employee well-being greatly improve productivity, lower turnover, and make institutions more effective.
The study highlights that investing in employee well-being is not merely a welfare measure but a strategic necessity for achieving long-term sustainability. It concludes by recommending the implementation of structured well-being initiatives and supportive organizational practices to foster a resilient and sustainable academic workforce.
