Abstract: The study examines the role of the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) in developing skilled manpower for the manufacturing industry. With rapid technological advancements and increasing demand for industry-ready workers, apprenticeship training has become essential in bridging the gap between theoretical education and practical skills. The research is based on primary data collected from 244 respondents using a structured questionnaire. Due to non-normal distribution, non-parametric statistical tools such as Chi-square test, Kruskal–Wallis test, and Spearman correlation were applied. The findings reveal that NAPS significantly contributes to skill development, productivity improvement, and job readiness. However, challenges such as theory–practice gaps and moderate effectiveness of training infrastructure still exist. The study concludes that NAPS is an effective initiative for workforce development but requires continuous improvement in training systems and industry collaboration.
