Abstract:

With today’s computer environment, the fast transmission of files through the internet is posing great risks when it comes to cyber attacks via the files themselves. Malicious files can easily be hidden just by altering their file extensions so that they look innocent to the user and to other security measures. This poses a huge problem when it comes to determining the real identity of a file. As such, the Magic Number File Verification System will come in handy as a perfect tool for determining file identities without depending on their names but rather on their internal structures.
