Abstract
Cyber security has become a fundamental requirement in modern digital systems due to the rapid expansion of internet-based services, cloud computing, and interconnected technologies. As organizations and individuals increasingly rely on digital platforms for communication, financial transactions, and data storage, the risk of cyber threats has grown significantly. Modern systems are exposed to a wide range of security threats, including malware, phishing, ransomware, denial-of-service attacks, and advanced persistent threats, which can lead to data breaches, financial losses, and disruption of critical services. This paper presents a comprehensive review of cyber security threats in modern systems by examining the different types of attacks, their methodologies, and their impact on organizations and users. It also explores various defense mechanisms such as encryption techniques, authentication methods, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems that are used to protect digital assets. Furthermore, the study discusses key challenges in cyber security, including evolving attack strategies, vulnerabilities in emerging technologies, and the lack of user awareness. The paper aims to provide a clear understanding of current cyber security threats and highlights the importance of implementing robust and proactive security measures to ensure the safety and reliability of modern systems.
