ABSTRACT:
Employee absenteeism is a common issue in organizations, especially in labor-intensive industries where regular employee presence is important for smooth operations. This study focuses on identifying the root causes of absenteeism and understanding its impact on organizational performance with reference to Premier Shoes. The study is based on primary data collected from 136 employees through a structured questionnaire. The data was analysed using statistical tools such as percentage analysis and non-parametric tests with the help of SPSS. The findings show that absenteeism is mainly caused by health issues, work stress, and family-related problems. It also has a noticeable impact on productivity, work efficiency, and team coordination. Absenteeism leads to delays in work, increases workload for other employees, and affects overall performance. The study suggests that improving working conditions, providing incentives, and offering flexible leave policies can help reduce absenteeism. In conclusion, managing absenteeism effectively is important for improving employee performance and organizational efficiency.
