Abstract – Training and Development (T&D) is a vital human resource practice that enhances employee knowledge, skills, and competencies required for effective job performance. This study examines the effectiveness of training and development programs as an HR practice in Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company (Chola), a leading Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) under the Murugappa Group. The study was conducted using a structured questionnaire administered to 117 respondents across different age groups and occupational categories. Statistical tools including Simple Percentage Analysis, Mann-Whitney U Test, Kruskal-Wallis H Test, and Pearson Correlation were employed to analyse the data. The findings reveal that a significant majority of employees have a positive perception of the training programs, with 82% reporting increased confidence and satisfaction post-training, and 84% actively applying training knowledge in their job roles. The study concludes that the training initiatives at Cholamandalam are effective and contribute positively to employee development and organizational performance.
