ABSTRACT
Workplace performance, employee emotional state, and employee behavior can be affected by the workplace environment. Color Psychology is one aspect of workplace design that has received more focus as it has been shown to affect people's moods, stress, concentration, and productivity. This research explores the effect of color psychology in office interior on mood and productivity of employees in the industrial solutions sector. The research design employed in the study was descriptive research design and quantitative research methods were used. A structured Likert-scale questionnaire was used for primary data collection from 120 employees. The percentage analysis, mean score analysis, Chi-square test, t-test, ANOVA, and Regression analysis were used for interpretation of the statistical tools. The results showed that colors in the workplace have a significant effect on workers' mood and productivity. Cool colors (blue and green) promoted feelings of calmness, concentration, and emotional balance, while inappropriate, uninteresting color combinations resulted in heightened stress levels and lowered motivation. Multiple regression analysis revealed that emotional state has a positive effect on productivity and stress has a negative effect on employee performance. The study concludes that having a good workplace color scheme can lead to better employee wellbeing, workplace satisfaction, and organizational productivity.
