Abstract - In recent years, webcams and mobile cameras have become an important part of daily digital communication and online activities. However, unauthorized access to cameras by malicious applications and hackers has become a major privacy concern. Many users remain unaware when their device camera is secretly accessed in the background, resulting in privacy violations and security threats. This paper presents “The Silent Eye,” a smart security-based monitoring system designed to detect and alert users about hidden or unauthorized camera access in real time. The proposed system continuously monitors camera usage, detects suspicious background processes, and immediately notifies the user whenever unauthorized access is identified. The system aims to enhance user privacy and strengthen device security through real-time monitoring and intrusion detection techniques. Experimental analysis demonstrates that the proposed system effectively identifies hidden camera usage with improved accuracy and minimal system overhead. This solution can be further extended for laptops, smartphones, and IoT devices to provide advanced privacy protection.
