Abstract—This project proposes an IoT based borewell water level monitoring system using a float sensor and LoRa communication. Grod.Groundwater is one of the most important sources of water for agricultural activities and domestic usage, especially in rural areas. Borewells are widely used to extract groundwater, and monitoring the water level in these borewells is essential to ensure sustainable usage and to prevent damage to pumping systems. In many places, borewell water levels are still monitored manually, which is time-consuming, inefficient, and sometimes inaccurate. Continuous monitoring can help farmers and users make better decisions regarding water usage and pump operation.This project proposes an IoT-based borewell water level monitoring system using a float sensor and LoRa communi- cation technology. The system uses a float switch installed at a predetermined depth inside the borewell to detect the presence or absence of water. The float sensor is connected to an ESP32 microcontroller integrated with a Heltec LoRa module, which processes the sensor data and transmits the water level status wirelessly over long distances.The transmitted data is received by a remote receiver unit, where the water level status is displayed for monitor- ing purposes. LoRa communication is chosen because it supports long-range transmission with low power consumption, making it suitable for rural and agricultural environments. The proposed system is low-cost, reliable, easy to install, and capable of providing real- time monitoring of borewell water levels. This system can help farmers and users manage groundwater resources more efficiently and prevent pump damage due to dry running
