ABSTRACT:
Numerous educational institutions continue to face challenges in managing all facets of event coordination events and managing the number of volunteers from an overall perspective. This is largely due to the many different locations where these records are stored and because most of what volunteer organizations currently do still requires scheduling at events or on-site at events. Event Aura was designed as a web-based centralized application to assist in facilitating the entire event coordination process along with management of volunteer participation at educational institutions, by bringing together all application components such as scheduling, administration, volunteer management and monitoring into a single location.
Through Event Aura, administrators will be able to manage all information related to events in one dashboard (date/time, category, location, attendance status, etc.) for any organization/association, and also allow for organization of events by year or volunteers for specific events, along with the ability to generate reports that show completed and scheduled activities. The objective of the Event Aura application is to help eliminate manual processes, reduce reliance upon paper documents, increase the speed of processing times for administrative tasks, and enhance the accuracy of data tracked across multiple functional areas.
Event Aura was built using leading technologies in the development of web-based applications which will provide opportunities for potential enhancement in the future as well as reduce maintenance time. Future developments could include; automated notifications, ability to control user access, analytical reporting tools, and online payment processing/integration.
