Abstract:Aviation safety is vital for modern air transportation. It needs constant monitoring of operational risks like wildlife strikes, Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) sightings, and runway incursions. This study analyzes over 60,000 aviation safety events recorded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) from 2016 to 2019. What makes this work unique is the combined study of three main aviation hazards within one framework. This approach allows us to compare their occurrence patterns, operational impact, and risk distribution. Data visualization and statistical analysis helped identify trends based on airport category, flight phase, altitude, geographic location, and severity levels. The results show that wildlife strikes mainly happen near airports and during approach phases. UAS sightings tend to cluster during daytime operations and often exceed recommended altitude limits. Runway incursions are more frequent at reliever and general aviation airports. These findings point out high-risk areas and conditions, offering valuable insights for airport authorities and aviation safety managers. This study illustrates how data analysis can help mitigate risks and enhance aviation safety.
