Abstract - In modern engineering and aviation maintenance environments, operational efficiency and safety depend heavily on the precise management and accountability of tools. Traditional manual tracking methods or user-dependent scanning systems are slow, prone to human error, and create significant administrative bottlenecks. This paper presents the design, fabrication, and performance evaluation of an "Intelligent Tool Control" (ITC) system, an advanced, high-performance automated electronic system engineered for seamless point-of-use tool management. Housed within a premium industrial roller cabinet, the system provides total access control and instantaneous tracking of tool movements down to 2mm in diameter without requiring user initiated scanning or physical modifications to the assets themselves. Utilizing advanced hardware and sensor-driven inventory matrices, the system detects tool removal or return instantly, even when drawers are only partially extended. The integrated cloud connectivity module syncs seamlessly with a SQL database, allowing for live monitoring against specific aircraft tail numbers and work orders. The implementation of this technology addresses the critical gap between physical asset management and digital tracking, effectively eliminating administrative delays, preventing Foreign Object Debris (FOD) incidents, and guaranteeing a foolproof chain of custody for critical engineering assets while optimizing overall operational workflow efficiency.
