Abstract
This project describes a Smart Security System for a Girls Hostel that utilizes face recognition and GSM alert capabilities through an ESP32-based system. The Smart Security System consists of a PIR sensor to detect movement, then the system activates the ESP32-CAM module to capture images to recognize the person. The system uses a relay controlled solenoid lock to allow authorized residents access to the hostel premises. Unauthorized persons will not receive access to the hostel and will generate an SMS alert using the SIM808 GSM modem. The System Status will be displayed on a 16X2 LCD in real-time. The Smart Security System will improve the safety of female travelers in hostels through the reduction in human intervention, as it is cost-effective, reliable, and efficient.
