ABSTRACT :
This project presents a Blockchain-Based Airline Booking System designed to enhance security, transparency, and data integrity in airline reservations. Traditional booking systems, while convenient, face challenges such as data tampering, duplicate bookings, ticket fraud, and centralized vulnerabilities. To overcome these issues, the proposed system integrates blockchain technology with a web-based platform developed using Python Flask, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQLite.
The system supports a complete booking workflow including user registration, login, flight search, seat selection, payment, and confirmation. It ensures seat availability to prevent duplication and records each booking as a secure blockchain transaction using cryptographic hashing and Proof-of-Work. A unique booking ID, QR code, and downloadable PDF ticket are generated for verification and secure documentation.
Additionally, an admin module manages flight schedules and reservations, while a blockchain verification feature ensures data immutability. Overall, the system improves trust, reduces fraud, and provides a scalable framework for future enhancements such as real-time integration, cloud deployment, and smart contracts.
