Abstract
Portfolio management is an essential investment strategy that enables retail investors to achieve financial objectives while balancing risk and return. This study examines portfolio management strategies adopted by retail investors with reference to ITC Ltd. by analysing diversification practices, asset allocation, risk tolerance, financial literacy, portfolio review, and investment preferences. The research is based on both primary and secondary data collected from 100 retail investors using a structured questionnaire. The findings indicate that diversification, financial knowledge, disciplined investment planning, and regular portfolio reviews significantly improve portfolio performance. ITC Ltd. emerged as a preferred portfolio component because of its diversified operations, financial stability, and consistent dividend payments.
