Abstract
Working capital management is an essential component of financial management that supports the efficient functioning and sustainability of business organizations. In the automobile industry, effective management of working capital is particularly important due to high investment requirements, long production cycles, inventory intensity, and changing market conditions. This study aims to examine and describe the working capital management practices followed in the automobile industry and analyze their role in improving operational and financial performance.
The study adopts a descriptive research design and is based primarily on secondary data collected from company annual reports, financial statements, journals, industry publications, and other reliable sources. The analysis focuses on major components of working capital such as cash management, inventory management, receivables management, and payables management. Financial tools and ratio analysis are used to evaluate liquidity and operational efficiency.
The findings indicate that efficient working capital management contributes significantly to maintaining liquidity, reducing operational risks, improving resource utilization, and enhancing profitability. Proper control over inventory levels and timely management of receivables and payables strengthen overall business performance. The study concludes that adopting systematic working capital practices enables automobile companies to achieve sustainable growth, financial stability, and competitive advantage in a dynamic business environment.
