ABSTRACT:
- Working capital management refers to the funds required by an organization to carry out its day-to-day business activities. It represents the portion of capital used in short-term operations such as maintaining raw materials, semi-finished goods, finished goods, receivables, and short-term investments.
- Working capital is often called the lifeblood of a business because it ensures the smooth functioning of daily operations. Long-term funds are mainly used to acquire fixed assets such as machinery, buildings, and land, while short-term funds are used to purchase raw materials, pay wages, and meet other operational expenses. These short-term funds are commonly referred to as working capital or circulating capital.
- The main objective of this study is to analyse the different components of working capital at UltraTech Cement Limited, Tadipatri, and to evaluate how working capital management affects the company’s liquidity and profitability. The study also focuses on understanding the efficiency of managing current assets and current liabilities within the organization.
