ABSTRACT - Money is the most common medium of exchange, but there are many situations particularly in close-knit communities, college campuses, and neighbourhood groups where people have valuable skills or time they are willing to offer but no convenient way to exchange them with others who need them. Time Bank is a proposed digital platform that replaces money with time as the currency of exchange: every hour of any service, regardless of its market rate, earns the provider exactly one time credit, which can later be spent on receiving a different service from another community member. This paper presents the design of a Time Bank system, discussing its relevance as an alternative economy model, the architecture of the platform, a service-exchange workflow, and the practical challenges of keeping a time-credit community functional and fair over time.
