Abstract - The present study establishes the basis and benefits of adopting the Circular Economy (CE) in the building and construction industry in India. Due to major dependency on fossil fuel during manufacturing and transportation of materials, and environmental degradation as a result of waste generated and extraction of virgin material, are two major concerns comes from the construction industry. The present scenario has an extremely adverse effect on the environment and contributes significantly to increasing global warming. This study tries to establish linkages between circular economy principles across all phases of the building and construction industry and its impact on associated GHG emissions in India.
