Abstract: The rise of cryptocurrency as a global financial asset has reshaped the investment behavior of retail investors. This study examines behavioral patterns, motivations, and risk perceptions of individual investors in the cryptocurrency market based on a synthesis of recent scholarly literature. Findings suggest that young, tech-savvy individuals dominate the retail crypto space, with investment decisions primarily driven by short-term profit motives and emotional triggers like FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). However, this enthusiasm is often coupled with limited understanding of the associated risks and market volatility. The study highlights the urgent need for financial education, diversification strategies, and robust regulatory frameworks to foster responsible retail investment in the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
