Abstract: Detachable chain links are a critical component in industrial manufacturing, and logistics infrastructure. Their fundamental purpose is to enable rapid assembly, disassembly, and reconfiguration of chain-based systems without requiring specialized tools or permanent deformation of structural components. This project provides a review of detachable chain link technology, spanning historical origins, engineering fundamentals, material science, industry standards, and applications across diverse sectors, failure modes and maintenance practices. This experimental project examines the design parameters, load characteristics, and fatigue behavior. This document aims to serve as a definitive reference for engineers, maintenance professionals, procurement specialists, and researchers seeking knowledge of detachable chain link technology.
