ABSTRACT:
The research study on “Determinants of Candidate Preference in Career Selection: A Comparative Study of State Street Corporation and KreditBee in Bengaluru” aims to identify the significant factors affecting the career selection decisions of the candidates by considering the different parameters and factors in the context of two distinct organizational settings, i.e., a multinational corporation and a startup organization. Today’s dynamic and ever-changing job market has several factors to consider while making career decisions. These factors include the salary and benefits package, job security, career growth and development opportunities, learning opportunities, work-life balance, company reputation, organizational culture, innovation, and job stability. This research aims to conduct a comparative study on the factors affecting the career decisions of the candidates in the context of “State Street Corporation”, a globally recognized and renowned multinational corporation, and “KreditBee”, a fast-evolving and popular Indian startup organization.
The research methodology followed in the study will be comparative and descriptive in nature. Primary research will be conducted by using structured questionnaires and surveying students, job aspirants, and young professionals in Bengaluru. Secondary research will be conducted by using sources such as the company website, research articles, and other relevant literature. The research aims to identify the most significant factors affecting the career decisions of the candidates and analyse the difference in the perception of the candidates towards established corporations and startup organizations. It is also expected that the candidates who value stability, job security, and a structured work environment and the exposure to a globally recognized and renowned organization would be more inclined towards the “State Street Corporation”. Conversely, the candidates who value innovation, flexibility, and the startup culture would be more inclined towards the “KreditBee” organization.
The findings of the research study will provide a new perspective on the evolving mindset and attitude of the job aspirants in Bengaluru. The research will also provide a better understanding of the changing dynamics and trends in the career selection decisions and preferences of the modern-day job aspirants.
