Abstract- The rapid growth of digital technologies and internet accessibility has transformed the way consumers purchase products, including books. Traditional bookstore shopping often involves limitations such as restricted inventory, geographical constraints, and time-consuming searches. To address these challenges, this project presents the development of Velora, a full-stack book e-commerce web application designed to provide users with a seamless, secure, and efficient online book purchasing experience. The system is developed using the MERN Stack, comprising MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js, which enables the creation of a scalable and responsive web platform.
Velora offers a wide range of functionalities to enhance user engagement and convenience. Registered users can create accounts, log in securely using JSON Web Token (JWT) authentication, browse books by categories, search for specific titles, manage wishlists, add items to shopping carts, place orders, and track order status in real time. The platform also includes a comprehensive administrative dashboard that enables administrators to manage book inventories, categories, customer orders, and overall website operations efficiently. The user interface is designed using Tailwind CSS to ensure responsiveness and compatibility across multiple devices and screen sizes.
The development process followed a structured methodology involving requirement analysis, system design, frontend and backend implementation, database integration, authentication mechanisms, and rigorous testing. Various testing techniques were employed to validate system functionality, usability, security, and performance. The results demonstrate that Velora successfully meets the objectives of providing a user-friendly, secure, and efficient online book-selling platform. The project highlights the practical application of modern web development technologies in solving real-world business challenges and improving customer experience in the digital marketplace. Future enhancements may include online payment integration, personalized recommendation systems, customer reviews and ratings, email notifications, and mobile application support to further improve functionality and user satisfaction.
