Abstract:
DrillVerse is a virtual reality (VR)–based disaster preparedness and response training system designed to simulate life-threatening events with high realism and interactivity. The system provides immersive 3D environments where users can experience, analyze, and respond to disasters such as fires, and industrial accidents. Using Unity and advanced VR frameworks, DrillVerse enables real-time scenario engagement, including evacuation drills, hazard identification, decision-making tasks, and guided safety instructions. The platform addresses the limitations of traditional disaster training—such as low engagement, lack of realism, and restricted scalability—by offering an intuitive, repeatable, and highly interactive training alternative for students, communities, and emergency personnel. Future improvements include adaptive AI-driven scenarios, biometric stress analysis, multi-user collaboration, and enhanced environmental physics to further strengthen disaster response learning and real-world readiness.
