Abstract - This study investigates the mechanical and tribological properties of cold-worked AZ91D magnesium alloy reinforced with Al₂O₃ particles. The composite was fabricated and subjected to cold working to enhance performance. Hardness testing showed an average increase of 39 HRB compared to untreated samples. Microstructural analysis using SEM confirmed uniform particle distribution, while XRD identified the phases present. Wear tests and SEM analysis of worn surfaces revealed improved wear resistance. Overall, Al₂O₃ reinforcement and cold working significantly enhance hardness and wear behavior of the AZ91D composite.
