IMPACT OF MERGER AND ACQUISITION ON RIGHTS OF EMPLOYEES IN A COMPANY IN INDIA

ABSTRACT:

This  paper  deals  about  the  impact  of merger  and acquisition on rights of employees  in  a company  in India. Merging one company with another is a technique often used to ensure company growth whilst keeping expansion costs low.Employees of merging companies can be protected under TUPE rules. When combined, employees who are accustomed to a particular way of working or attitude from their managers can find that this has changed, and not always to their liking. The aim of the study is to find Impact  of merger  and acquisition on rights  of employees  in a company. Main  objective  of the  study is  to find  out the  major issues associated  with  pre  and  post  merging  situations  where cultural  shock  arises  and  employees  and  management clashes  to  fulfill  their  desires  moving  in  two  different directions. This  paper  also  analyse  the  present  training methods  to  cope  up  with  the  environment  and  the  upbringing situations  and some alternatives are also suggested to  make  any  merger/  acquisition  a  successful  event  for  the company. The study deals with empirical research I.e non-doctrinal study.It deals with both primary as well as secondary source of data and various secondary sources like books,articles,research papers etc. were used as reference.The study deals with survey method and the main tool for calculating or analysing the results in pearson chi-square table and cross tabulation count. The method of collecting is through direct survey method by getting people’s opinion and answer to the questionnaires. According to this research the value obtained through chi-square test is below 0.05 so therefore alternative hypothesis is proved which means there is a significant relationship association between Age and company act.
