ABSTRACT:Healthcare insurance has emerged as a vital pillar of financial planning in India, driven by escalating medical costs and growing risk awareness among individuals. This study investigates investor perception towards healthcare insurance policies with specific reference to Tata Capital Limited, examining the behavioural, financial, and service-related dimensions that influence investment and policy selection decisions. A structured questionnaire was administered to 225 respondents, and the data were analysed using Spearman’s Correlation, Independent Samples T-test, Mann-Whitney U test, and Chi-square test. Findings indicate that the dominant investor cohort comprises individuals aged 25–35 from middle-income groups who rely primarily on social media for information, yet rank financial advisors as the most trusted source. Coverage benefits and premium affordability were identified as the foremost drivers of policy selection, while hidden charges, claim processing delays, and limited coverage emerged as the most critical pain points. The study concludes that while awareness and satisfaction levels are broadly encouraging, significant gaps persist in transparency, claim efficiency, and personalised product design. Actionable recommendations are presented for insurance providers to better align their offerings with evolving investor expectations. Keywords: Investor Perception, Healthcare Insurance, Tata Capital, Premium Affordability, Claim Settlement, India
