Abstract: -Agriculture sector nowadays is facing several major problems such as water shortage, highly unpredictable weather conditions, and dependence on human labour for irrigation. In a lot of cases, traditional irrigation systems deliver water according to the schedule or whenever without considering the actual needs of the field. As a result, not only is water wasted but the crop yield may also be lowered. This document presents the IoT based smart agriculture monitoring and irrigation system that was built using ESP32 microcontroller. ESP32 as the main processing and communication unit controlled the water pump through a relay module and sent the live data to the cloud platform Thing Speak. The experimental results demonstrated that the newly developed system can achieve the desired result by reducing manual intervention, increasing the effectiveness of irrigation, and using water correctly. Being low-cost, capable of being scaled up, and offering reliable performance, the system is ideal for both sustainable and modern agriculture practices.
