Abstract
The rapid expansion of the event management industry has led to significant environmental challenges, including excessive waste generation, high energy consumption, and increased carbon emissions. Green event management practices have emerged as a sustainable solution to mitigate these impacts. This study proposes a lifecycle-based framework integrating Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) with modern green event practices to enhance sustainability outcomes. The research adopts a descriptive and analytical approach using secondary data from industry reports and sustainability studies. Findings indicate that structured implementation of green practices across pre-event, event, and post-event stages can reduce environmental impact by up to 45%. The study further establishes a strong correlation between IKS principles such as Aparigraha, Ahimsa, and Swadeshi and sustainable event execution. The proposed model provides a scalable roadmap aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. The research contributes to bridging the gap between traditional ecological wisdom and contemporary event management practices.
