Abstract

Power systems are essential infrastructures for electricity generation, transmission, and distribution, where failures can cause significant operational and economic impacts. This paper presents an Intuitionistic Fuzzy Graph (IFG) approach for modeling power sys-tem failure risk under uncertainty. In the proposed framework, power system compo-nents are represented as vertices, while their interactions are modeled as intuitionistic fuzzy edges using membership, non-membership, and hesitation degrees. The proposed method effectively captures uncertainty, identifies critical components, and analyzes fail-ure propagation to support reliability assessment and maintenance planning. The results demonstrate that intuitionistic fuzzy graphs provide a flexible and efficient framework for uncertainty-aware power system failure risk assessment.

Keywords: IFGs, Power system failure risk, Reliability assessment, Risk analysis, Un-certainty modeling, Failure propagation.
