Abstract - This is a collection of information about video game sales from around the world. It has data on 16,598 video games that were sold on 31 platforms. These video games are divided into 12 categories. The information comes from hundreds of companies that make video games. The data covers a period of time from 1980 to 2020.
It shows how many video games were sold in parts of the world like North America, Europe, Japan and other places. This information can help people notice things that they might not see when they just look at the numbers. For example, it can show which types of video games are most popular in areas, which companies make video games that people keep buying and how the types of platforms people use affect what video games they buy. It can also explain why some types of video games are only popular in places.
