INTRODUCTION:
In dentistry, pain is a critical concern because dental procedures often involve tissues richly innervated by sensory neurons. The pain pathway, also known as the ‘nociceptive pathway’, is the process by which pain signals are transmitted from the site of injury or stimulus (such as a toothache or during dental procedures) to the brain, where they are perceived as pain.
