ABSTRACT
In the context of rapid technological advancements and evolving industry demands, employability among fresh graduates has become a critical concern for IT companies. This study examines skill-gap analysis and upskilling strategies for fresh graduates, with a focus on factors influencing employability. Both internal factors, including training programs, learning platforms, and organizational support, and external factors such as industry trends and changing skill requirements are analyzed to provide insights into effective talent development strategies. The research adopts a descriptive research design to assess the extent of skill gaps and the effectiveness of upskilling initiatives. A sample of 150 respondents was selected through simple random sampling from a population of 250 graduates associated with GradTwin in Chennai. Data were collected using both primary and secondary sources, with primary data obtained through a structured questionnaire comprising 30 items. Statistical tools, including Normality Test, Correlation Analysis, Mann–Whitney U Test, Kruskal–Wallis H Test, and Run Test, were employed for data analysis. The findings reveal significant gaps in technical, communication, and industry-relevant skills among fresh graduates, with notable variations based on demographic factors such as gender and educational background. The study also highlights the effectiveness of existing upskilling programs while identifying areas requiring improvement. The results offer valuable insights for designing targeted upskilling strategies, enhancing employability, and strengthening human resource and training policies. Despite limitations related to sample representativeness and time constraints, the study provides a comprehensive framework for addressing skill gaps and improving career readiness among fresh graduates.
