Abstract - Antimicrobial textile finishing has a dual purpose: to prevent microbial growth and eliminate microorganisms. Additionally, such treatments enhance the hygienic performance of the textile product. This research presents an automated system for antimicrobial testing through digital image processing by detecting zones of inhibition (ZOI). In this technique, treated fabric samples are placed on agar- inoculated. After the incubation period, photos of the plates are taken. This system uses image processing techniques to identify clear zones of inhibition which give accurate results. This automatic method helps to avoid mistakes that occur when people measure these zones by hand. This system also makes the testing process faster and very useful for improving the quality of antimicrobial textiles in a reliable way.
