Abstract - This project aims to investigate the effects of soil-structure interaction on the seismic response of bridges. The dynamic behavior of bridges subjected to earthquake loading is strongly influenced by the interaction between the bridge and the underlying soil. Understanding and accurately modeling this interaction is critical for the seismic design of bridges, as it can significantly affect the structural response and performance. The project will involve numerical simulations and experimental testing of scaled models to analyze the effects of different soil conditions and bridge configurations on the seismic response. The results of this study will provide valuable insights into the behavior of bridges during earthquakes and contribute to the development of more robust and reliable seismic design codes for bridges.
